I would like to introduce to you, something that the lovely team of Love Wine and I recently collaborated on. But first, let me share a little background...
I got invited by Project 52 (my favourite place to unwind with friends and to have Gin) to attend their Gin Tasting event where Ian Spinks (owner and founder of Audemus Spirits) attended and gave a presentation of their Gin and other Spirits. One of which, left a lasting and memorable impression to me was the Pink Pepper Gin.
It was love at first sip. It was nothing like the Gins i have tasted before. It has a beautiful intense aromatic flavour and very pleasing on the nose. I knew i had to get hold of a bottle. That's how Will & Kevin of Love Wine who also attended the same event, came in the picture. As it happens, they are the only retailer in Jersey and stocks were exclusively very limited. But, as luck would have it, i was fortunate to have been assigned a bottle!
When i finally received my very own bottle of Pink Pepper Gin, i immediately thought i can't possibly keep this to myself and have to share this wonderful find with you all. As i always do. You're welcome. I'm always at your service my dears. :)
After much chatting, exchanges and a few gin tasting, Will, Kevin and I can finally share with you a recipe we have put together to satisfy all you Gin lovers; Pink Pepper Lush | A Summer in a Glass. A refreshing, delicious summer drink made for sharing. It's so easy to make and perfect for the summer parties or any parties you can think of.
We paired the Pink Pepper Gin with Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic Water on this to strike the right balance of taste and as the name and colour suggests... it was not a very hard decision to make. We tried it and we loved it.
The below recipe fits in a 1 Litre Jug. You can make it a few hours ahead of time. If you do, instead of putting the ice cubes in your preparation, leave them out and place the jug in the fridge instead to keep it cold and serve over ice as needed.
Make it next weekend and invite your friends. Throw in some music and nibbles and you're good to go!
Pink Pepper Lush
250ml Pink Pepper Gin | 400ml Fever Tree 'Aromatic' Tonic Water | 125ml Pink Grapefruit Juice
Peach | Strawberries | Pink Grapefruit | Rosemary | Ice Cubes
Prepare the fruits by slicing them and set aside.
Prepare the 125ml grapefruit juice making sure you strain it on to a glass.
In a 1 Litre Jug, pour the Pink Pepper Gin, Aromatic and the Grapefruit juice. Stir, add 5 ice cubes, the sliced fruits and finish with the Rosemary. Serve on a glass with ice.
It's as simple as that. Enjoy!
