Yes. We are dreaming of a White Christmas over here! Such a cliche, i know... but there is a rumour that there will be snow. How true this is, i do not know! But, it won't stop us from getting our sledge ready... just in case!
I just love this time of the year. This Christmas is going to be even more exciting and oh so magical as Hayden is starting to be more aware of what's going on. Yesterday was evident of that.
Hayden helped choose the tree and pushed the oversized cart by the counter, refusing to let go. When we got home, he went to the conservatory to stroke it and say ''hello... tree''. It was adorable. Then, i let him place the very first decoration. He was very proud of himself and at that moment, i realised he's growing up.
I was up early this morning and whilst everyone was still in dreamland, i set out to make some pretty wreaths to decorate the house. I used some garlands from last year and added some fresh silver-back olive cuttings from our trees around the house. The lush greens are so pretty against the whites. It looks so fresh and inviting.
I was feeling creative so i didn't stop there. I remembered Hayden's advent calendar and realised i only have 2 days before the 1st of December to get wrapped up! I honestly don't know where the time goes these days. I thought i had plenty of time... it has certainly crept up on me.
I wrapped the little presents using the crumpled tissue paper i used to store the Christmas baubles. I love all things linen at the moment and thought it had that look and feel to it. I also had some ribbons cut offs from last year that i added to the bakers twine for that extra detail. To finish off, i added some leaves which i got from the garden and some leftover feathers from Hayden's first birthday. Overall, nothing was spent on these pretty little things. Isn't that amazing? You can easily do this at home.
In case you're wondering, the little presents comprised of assorted little cars that you can get for £1.50-£5 each. Hayden loves to play with these little cars and he has quite a collection already. I won't be filling each of the pockets up with presents. Some will have little treats like chocolates and raisins and other bits and bobs i will find between now and Christmas eve.
As you can see... it's not quite ready. I didn't have enough presents to wrap. Ooopsy!
I will be posting more Christmas DIY projects soon so keep an eye out! In the meantime, if you feel inspired, do try this at home and let me know how you get on.
